BARGELLO MUSEUM

The ancient Palazzo del Podestà was built starting from 1255 and was subsequently the seat of the Bargello Magistrate, the chief of police between the Middle Ages and the Modern Age, and then become starting from 1865 the first National Museum in Italy. The Bargello Museum is therefore a place rich in history, where you can learn about the absolute masterpieces of Donatello's sculpture, Verrocchio, Michelangelo, Giambologna and Cellini. Inside there are also precious collections of minor arts, armor and bronze statues, in an environment that the stratifications of time have made unique.
